On June 27, 2024, we celebrated the official opening of our new office and production facilities in the heart of Munich. The event, attended by prominent guests such as Federal Finance Minister Christian Lindner and renowned investor Frank Thelen, marks another significant step for us on our path to becoming the leading provider of modular robotics solutions in Europe. Together with over 120 customers, partners, press representatives, and friends of the company, our guests experienced an exciting program full of highlights and innovations.
The Beginning of a Success Story
Founded at the Chair of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence at the Technical University of Munich, RobCo has established itself since its inception as an expert in modular, affordable, and connected robot automation solutions. Our vision is to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through flexible and cost-efficient robotics applications and to revolutionize production processes.
“The inauguration of our new office and production facilities in Munich is another milestone on our way to achieving our goal of becoming the market leader in modular robotics systems for industrial companies in Europe," emphasizes Roman Hölzl, CEO and co-founder of RobCo. "The great support of our customers, who use our robots daily in their production, and the recognition of our achievements by the political sphere encourage us to take our solutions to the next level and pursue our vision of having RobCo robots in every factory across Europe. For this reason, we also plan to double the number of our employees this year. With a strong team and a clear focus, we are confident that we can achieve our goals. ”
The Opening Ceremony: A Day Full of Innovation and Networking
The event on June 27 offered guests a varied program. After the official speeches by Christian Lindner, Frank Thelen, and Roman Hölzl, guests were treated to an impressive live robot demo showcasing the performance and flexibility of RobCo robots. Subsequently, visitors had the opportunity to tour the production facilities and participate in an intensive robot training session to see firsthand the capabilities of the modular robots. The day also provided ample opportunity for networking and exchanging ideas with other industry experts and partners.
“RobCo is an excellent example of what our country needs: more startups willing to take entrepreneurial risks and bring know-how from academia to practice and production lines," said Christian Lindner, Federal Finance Minister. "Germany already has a strong robotics industry, but we could make further progress in the SME sector and industry. RobCo's Lego-like modular system appeals to many companies, especially SMEs that have not yet had the ability to integrate cutting-edge technologies into their machinery. ”
Frank Thelen, investor and co-founder of Freigeist Capital, highlighted the importance of modular robotics solutions for SMEs: "There is no question that robotic solutions are increasingly taking over tasks in production. However, this competitive advantage has so far been reserved for the big players. For smaller and medium-sized production sites with changing orders and small batch sizes, the acquisition of large robots specialized in a specific task was not worthwhile. RobCo now offers modular and flexible robotics as an affordable solution, precisely tailored to SMEs, enabling them to keep up in the automation race. Additionally, industrial companies can effectively address the ongoing skilled labor shortage with these solutions."
Intelligent and Modular Robotics Automation for Industrial Manufacturing
RobCo stands for innovation and technological excellence in industrial automation. Our modular robots can be flexibly adapted and expanded to changing requirements through the patented hardware kit and the RobCo Studio software platform. This adaptability is particularly crucial for SMEs, which often operate in dynamic markets and must quickly adapt to changing customer needs.
“Our robots can already be set up, programmed, and managed with software and AI support. In the future, we will focus more on designing even more autonomous and intelligent industrial robots within their operational environments," adds Paul Maroldt, co-founder and Head of Robot Engineering at RobCo. "True to our autonomy approach, we are relying on deeper AI implementation within our software so that robots will soon be able to independently perceive and analyze their surroundings and plan and execute actions based on the sense-reason-act triad. ”
Our goal is to revolutionize the automation industry worldwide through continuous improvement and innovation and to set new standards in robotics.
