Updates on RobFlow and RobCo Studio bring more flexibility and efficiency to production.
Optimized control, simple fleet management, and AI integration for intelligent automation processes
Munich, February 27, 2025 — RobCo, a leading provider of modular, affordable and connected robotic automation solutions, presents the new updates to its RobFlow no-code software and RobCo Studio management platform. The updates optimize the areas of accuracy, usability and system integration. The RobFlow Update v5.4, among other things, enables precise curved movements and makes it easier to test program flows. RobCo Studio has been expanded to include powerful fleet management and cloud-based workflow creation.
Given the shortage of skilled workers and the need to use budgets efficiently, automation offers an ideal solution. According to a survey by the F.A.Z. Institute, 67 percent of medium-sized companies see automation as an effective measure against staff shortages [1]. RobCo offers a complete solution with modular hardware and user-friendly software. The combination of the RobFlow no-code software and the RobCo Studio management platform enables simple and seamless integration and control of robotic systems. RobCo is now providing updates for these two solutions in order to further optimize them.
RobFlow v5.4 optimizes control and simplifies programming
RobFlow is a no-code software for easy control of modular robotic systems. With a user-friendly interface, even users without programming knowledge can create and automate complex motion sequences. Dashboards and drag-and-drop programming make it easy to design processes. An integrated 3D visualization and a digital twin ensure precise planning and simulation. Thanks to IoT interfaces and cloud functions, RobFlow offers maximum flexibility in access and maintenance.
The new v5.4 update adds powerful functions to the platform for even more efficient work. The innovative testing mode visualizes every executed program step (node) and makes it possible to execute individual steps, such as a sequence of movement sequences, in isolation. This makes troubleshooting much easier, as adjustments can be made without restarting the entire process. An optimized search function navigates precisely through complex processes — particularly helpful when searching for specific variable names, types or movement patterns.
In addition, motion control has been optimized with Path Movement Node: Instead of just rectilinear movements, curved paths can now also be programmed. This precision control is particularly valuable for demanding tasks such as deburring or surface treatment. By integrating Pose Variable Expressions, the robot positions can also be adjusted dynamically and automatically — this is ideal when different workpiece sizes have to be processed. These adjustments can be easily made and updated in the dashboard.
In addition, the extended RobCo SDK (Software Development Kit) simplifies the integration of external hardware such as cameras into the robot controller through standardized interfaces. Partners can adjust robot positions and send direct control commands via HTTP or WebSocket connections.
The technical highlights of the update include the revised “Relative Movement Node”, which now also enables precise movements in the TCP frame (the robot's own coordinate system). The automatic trajectory reversal optimizes processes for palletizing, grid and stacking tasks by allowing the robot to adapt its movement paths depending on the situation.
Intelligent fleet management with RobCo Studio
RobCo Studio as an innovative web application, it combines robot management, simulation and visualization on a central platform. The latest updates add even more powerful functions to RobCo Studio. Robot workflows can now be created more flexibly via Cloud-RobFlow — even offline and without a direct connection to the control unit. The redesigned visualizer enables detailed analysis of robot movements directly in the platform. Companies with multiple locations or complex production environments benefit from optimized real-time monitoring and control of individual robots and modules.
The new fleet management offers a structured organization of robot groups with continuous condition monitoring. Thanks to automatic over-the-air updates, all systems are always up to date. Improved simulation options allow the virtual testing of individual robot configurations, including load and range analyses. The updated robot calculator creates more precise cost estimates for various configurations and is supplemented by optimized tutorials.
Other new features include an extended search function for nodes and widgets and an improved drag-and-drop system for sortable extension fields. With RobVision, an AI-based image processing technology, the platform is expanding its options for intelligent adjustment and optimization of automation solutions.
“With the updates for RobFlow and RobCo Studio, we are setting another important milestone in the development of robotic automation solutions,” says Roman Hölzl, CEO and co-founder of RobCo. “Our software now offers companies even more options to optimize their processes in a simple, user-friendly way. By integrating AI-supported technologies such as RobVision and improved fleet management and control functions, we offer a solution that allows our customers not only to work more efficiently, but also to respond flexibly to the constantly growing requirements of industry. ”
