With a comprehensive RobCo automation solution in palletizing, we can actively address the ongoing shortage of skilled workers technologically and at the same time save costs.
Actively addressing the shortage of skilled workers
Recruiting workers, both on an auxiliary and skilled level, is extremely difficult. The main goal of DE-VAU-GE was to reduce the use of auxiliary workers. Ergonomics in the workplace are problematic and lead to stressful working conditions, particularly in the final packaging, as work is done manually in this area. The automation of handling processes is therefore of great importance. Due to the increasing shortage of workers and physically demanding and unattractive jobs, DE-VAU-GE was looking for simple automation solutions. The focus was on high availability combined with easy operation for both users and technicians.
Short implementation time and complete turnkey solution
DE-VAU-GE chose RobCo due to the short implementation period and the attractive price-performance ratio.
The automation solution was individually adapted to DE-VAU-GE's requirements and fits seamlessly into the hall layout. The modularity does not require an oversized and therefore more expensive system.
Six trays weighing up to 10 kg could be palletized per minute. With a range of 1,400 mm and a load capacity of 13.5 kg, the 5-axis robot “Dynamic Daniel” is precisely tailored to the handling of the products. The gripper is designed in such a way that it can easily grip trays and apply the intermediate layers by suction. RobCo's complete solution was delivered turnkey, including CE approval, from a single source.
Increased efficiency and cost savings
By implementing RobCo, it was possible to reduce the required number of workers per shift, which corresponds to a saving of one workstation per shift — a total of 3 FTE. These workers can now be stationed elsewhere more efficiently and profitably.
The robot now runs extremely reliable and significantly improves efficiency in the company. Each robot can reduce costs per shift and pay for itself within 6 months.
True enthusiasm for automation
Thanks to the simple exchange of modules, replacing entire robots is a thing of the past. The reusability of the modules in various combinations for different applications also significantly extends the life of a modular robot. In the event of an unfit module, a replacement module can be sent by post and installed quickly and easily by production employees. This flexibility and modular structure enable companies to save costs as they do not have to replace the entire robot and at the same time strengthen their competitiveness as they can react flexibly to changes in their market environment without having to take on high financial risks.
